My lovely friends,
It has been a heck of a week, but we have finally made it to the weekend! For many of my university friends, it has been a long journey of midterms, assignments, projects, and stress to get to where we are now. From my own experience, I have been challenged with the various stressors of school, work, and my every day social life. This week, I wanted to shed a light on the topic of maintaining a positive and healthy lifestyle. Being a student myself, I can relate to the constant demand of schoolwork, social events, and fitness on top of attending classes on campus. School has always been a place that I associated with stress and assignments, and I never thought I could see it as a place of community, love, and positive energy. Mental health and maintaining a healthy body and mind are the most important aspects of school, that the school system is lacking in focus of. University can often consume your time to do fun activities and participate in social events, but with the help of friends and family you will be able to get through even the hardest of times. You may not realize it right away, but these significant people within your life are your ‘rocks’; the ones to support you through anything and be with you every step of the way. I wanted to acknowledge all the people in my life, because without them I would not be where I am as of today.
People often ask me “Wave, how are you so positive and happy all the time?”. That is a hard question for me to answer, because I cannot take all credit for being in the happy state that I am in. Thinking about my life right at this moment, I have finally been taking in every moment and enjoying the smallest things that life has to offer. I have always believed that happiness and smiling are the most impactful actions that a person can pass onto others, and can make someone’s day a little bit better. From my own experiences of being surrounded by negative energy, unsupportive environments and people that brought me down, I wanted to turn that around and empower others to be kinder and happier towards each other. One thing I have learnt over the years, is to only surround myself with the people that matter and genuinely care about me. If they don’t do either of these for you, do not channel your energy towards them. Always know that the negative people in your life are not worth waiting for or staying connected to. If you ever want support, have questions, or just want to share your experiences, my contact can be found on the homepage.
If you are in a situation where you feel unsupported or the people around you make you feel any less of worth, I encourage you to take a stand and leave the negative environment. Take action on what makes you happy and don’t let the negative vibes keep you down! Know that there are so many incredible people in this world, that will love and support you for who you are.
Keep that smile on!
My lovely friends,
